Imagine
This song was written by John Lennon and Yoko Ono to encourage the listener to imagine the possibility of a world different to the current reality at the time. This song was an offer to humanity to consider other possibilities on how we choose to live. The possibility of not believing in anything, to stop thinking that what we do, how we look, what we have is who we are and to let go of our attachment to things.
As you reflect on the words below what is available for you?
Imagine – John Winston Lennon
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
What is true for you?
There is no need to imagine. We are all already one.
Now What?
Are you imagining? What are you imagining for yourself, your family, your life? Can you see that if you are imagining you are looking outside of yourself to an imaginary future and so you are missing here, now, today. This moment.
Are you living for today? Or are you more focussed on the past, the future? What would happen if you stopped paying attention to past and present and were living more fully in the present?
Are you at peace? If not, what is not at peace within you? Who are you in conflict with? What are you conflicted about?
Is there an us to join? Some humans are devoting their living to getting clear on how to live as their true selves in the world, to live as one. Want to join us? Read more about The B Community.
